Vice chancellor's & basic statistics: 20th Congregation

Abstract

This is the Vice Chancellor's report in the year 2022The Vice Chancellor’s Report is essentially on programmes and activities carried out by the various Academic Faculties, the Library, Chaplaincy, and Administrative Departments/Sections/Units/Offices of the University during the 2021/2022 academic year (1st August, 2021- 31st July, 2022). It also has information on staff strength and student statistics during the year under review. As indicated in the previous year’s report, the 2019/2020 academic year was a challenging one for our University and other tertiary institutions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The devastating impact of this pandemic was not only on academic life, but also on the financial, social and other areas of the University’s operations. Notwithstanding the challenges of the time, the University managed to find innovative ways of weathering the storm. Thanks to science and technology, on-line operations were introduced to run some of our programmes. For the first time in its history since inception, the University held its 18th Congregation using virtual mode in the year 2020.
